Plus Michael is beautiful man,all his beauty in those outfits,with that hair cut took the attention. They couldn't write any interesting storyline like Jimmy's(except Richard) ,plus Jimmy was also victim of Gillian,he was broken and people had empathy for him ,there was no other character to make the same thing once again except Richard. Winters said they planned before the season was shooting and they talked it ,yes sometimes things looks so good on the paper but it doesn't go well as it was planned. The original characters of the show were not interesting like the fictional characters like (Jimmy,Richard) that was the one big problem about the show. Not only Nucky ,there're some other problems in Boardwalk Empire.Al capone story arc, Nelson's story,Luciano ,Meyer,etc. But do you seriously think that Winter and the producers wouldn't have considered that in the first place? And that's the last thing a producer of a major studio production would want. But how does it make sense to get rid of a character that people have already become attached to? If anything, it's going to make a whole bunch of people stop watching (which is exactly what happened).
That's really the fault of Terrance Winter and his band of writers. If that were the case, then why couldn't the writers find a way to spice up Nucky's character, instead of getting rid of Jimmy Darmody? I agree that Nucky was one of the least interesting aspects of this show. It was Nucky's story but Jimmy got so much attention,so i think Terence Winters decided to end the story of Jimmy and give a shock death to fans and also take to attention on Nucky and the other It was the writers fault i think also Nucky didn't take so much attention as a lead in the show and that was one of the reasons for Jimmy's death. There are serious issues surrounding the Pitt issue and BWE, however, none of us will ever know the real truth. (Too bad that use "middle class working people" don't get the same treatment.

I mean Monroe and many other actors are often "late" or "sick", etc and these are things that are "endured" in the movie business to a point. I don't know what crazy things he was doing, if any. The shift in the script was intentional to get rid of Pitt. He really could have cared less about what he promised to the Commodore or to himself unless2000 it benefited him. Nucky is not one to be compassionate for no reason. Jimmy was supposed to continue on (as another poster wrote) and do some "damage control" for Nucky.Įven though it's not a popular rumor, it was also said that in the final season Jimmy finds out that Nucky is really his father, and the reason why Nucky helped him and his mother for years. It was never "written" that Jimmy would die in Season 2. There seems to be a lot of misinformation here. He is such wonderful talent, I would love to see more from him. I dunno, all I can say is that if he was fired for being unprofessional, then let's hope that he'll learn from it. The way they killed off his character felt so rushed. But I do think there might be some truth to Pitt being difficult on set. Obviously, I wasn't there so I don't know which side is true. He was costing the production too much money so, they decided to write him off. According to some unidentified sources, he was showing up late, not coorporating and being just flat out rude. However, the rumor has it that Pitt was being difficult on set. He said that he was planning on finishing the character's storyline in season 2 from the get go. Terrance Winter officially stated111c that both him and Pitt agreed that it was the best decision to kill Jimmy Darmody off.
